Spring is upon us. People are happy that spring is here for many reasons. First, it means warmer weather is coming and so is the summer. Second, it means flowers and trees blooming – new life is here. And lastly it means people may start spring cleaning as we like to say.
The best thing I like about spring is the flowers and trees blooming – new life is here. Spring brings new life it seems to everyone.
New was the word I chose for this year for many reasons at the time. But now with spring approaching, new means something different for me. I love the new life spring brings with the flowers and trees. Since the flowers and trees died in the fall and winter, the spring brings them back to life with new life. The flowers grow bigger and stronger with each new spring. The trees grow bigger and stronger with each new spring.
Just like the flowers and trees die each year and come back to life in the spring, we are very similar to them in our Christian life. We are dead until Christ comes into our heart and then we are a new creation. We blossom and bloom. We become something new from the dead.
2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV)Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!
Are you blossoming and blooming? You may be thinking, I don’t have leaves and buds to bloom or blossom. But our buds are on the inside. Our buds grow as we grow in God.
So how do we keep them growing and blooming? By reading God’s Word, worshipping God, and reaching out to others to share about God. We grow by learning as much as we can about Him. Since He isn’t here in person, we can read His Word which is His Words given to others to share with us.
What else does it take to make us grow and bloom? It takes water. We have water that comes from the Earth but there is another Water that is more powerful than that. It’s the Water we receive from Jesus Christ. His Water is better for us than any water we can get from this Earth. If we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we receive this Water.
John 4:14 (NIV) but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”
Can you grow this year?
Do you have the Water from Jesus?
If not, you can receive this water and grow this year by accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.
