The Beginning…….

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

I’m creating this blog to share with others My Lord, the Blessings He has bestowed upon my family and me, and how He can use my illness and my life to show others how great He is!!!

I was saved at a young age of 12, however, I slipped many times along the way. It’s funny how as you get older things change in your life especially spiritually. After 16 years of marriage and 1 wonderful 13 year old boy, my life has taken me to a place I would have never dreamed. Days are not perfect, but that would be boring. We all have trials in our lives, we just need to keep on keeping on.

I was diagnosed in June, 2011 with Rheumatoid Arthritis. I was a very active person who thought I could do everything. I was always willing to say “Yes” to help and stretched myself very thin. I have changed in many ways since the diagnosis, spiritually and personally. I have learned to say “No” and it is okay if I can’t do everything myself. It is okay to ask for help or just wait. I’m not sure why The Lord decided for me to have this horrible illness, but I am going to Rejoice in the midst of my trials. HE is MY GOD. HE will get me through this. I try to be strong because I know there are more people out there with more serious issues than me.

I joined Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) in the Fall of 2011 and it has truly changed me spiritually, mentally and physically. I joined BSF after being diagnosed, however, I had been approached for 7 years prior but never went because I thought I did not have the time. I believe it was not HIS TIME for me to join until 2011 when I received an invitation from someone who had never asked me before. When I received the email, it was like a light went off and I said “Yes, Jeanie this is what you need now”. I knew with working and having a family it was going to be hard to schedule BUT with prayer and a open heart anything is possible with The Lord. My family and I may have had to make sacrifices, but they have been worth it.

The first year I studied Acts and it helped me learn how to really study the Bible and apply the principles. This year we are studying Genesis and it has been AWESOME. The faith of Abraham is so energizing and exciting. I can see me growing daily as I have learned to read, study, meditate, and spread His Word even more. I look forward to getting up early in the morning to read more. I feel like a sponge that is absorbing so much water, the Holy Water.

I have felt The Lord leading me to write and share His Word more, but I did not feel like I had the talent. I had been trying to spread the Word on Facebook, but I felt HE wanted me to do more. I named this blog months and months ago when I was first touched but never started until now, IN HIS TIME. If this can touch one person, I have done something great for The Lord. We never know how a word spoken or written will affect others. We have to go out on faith and speak nd write what The Lord leads and He will lead His Sheep to the Word. If you know me personally, you know I’m not a writer, however, I know The Lord is in charge.

If you find this inspiring, please share with others. If you need prayer, please let me know and I will pray for you.

Nothing is impossible as long as you have the Faith and an open heart to allow the Holy Spirit to work in you to spread the word.

In Christ’s Love,
Jeanie Benson
